The focus is not solely on building an impressive résumé through publications or obtaining accredited and official degrees; rather, we aim for our students to actively engage in initiatives that contribute to the common good while they study with us.

Finally, although we adhere to the Social Doctrine of the Catholic Church, students of all religious beliefs (including non-believers) are welcome. What matters most to us is not the religion one professes but a genuine commitment to driving meaningful change and achieving concrete goals for communities in need of special attention or protection. Values

St. Joseph Vaz University embraces the Catholic values derived from the Second Vatican Council, building upon our cultural and religious tradition while engaging with diverse worldviews. The Catholic Church has a longstanding tradition, dating back to the Patristic authors, of identifying the seeds of truth (semina verbi or logos spermatikós) present in other religions and philosophical systems. Christian scholars have sought to understand these perspectives to gain a deeper knowledge of the world and the various ways in which the religious experience manifests itself.

Today, this commitment to understanding others through our values and beliefs is reflected in the concept of Transcultural Spirituality, which explores religious experiences in their various expressions. These diverse worldviews also shape different models of social organization, governance, economic activity, cultural expressions, and ways of life.

What we have to offer?

St. Joseph Vaz University holds a license exemption issued by the Florida Department of Education until January 30, 2026 [Section 1005.06(1)(f), Florida Statutes]. This exemption is renewable annually, and we will continue to apply for its renewal in subsequent years to ensure that we provide our students with high-quality proprietary education.

At present, we offer a variety of Master’s and Doctorate programs, which students can explore in our catalog titles.

It is important for students to understand that our programs do not confer eligibility for the practice of any specific profession, nor do they guarantee that graduates will be able to transfer credits or pursue further academic or research studies at other universities. As proprietary education with a license exemption, the value of studying with us lies in the knowledge acquired, the projects completed (which will contribute to a professional portfolio), and the personal, professional, and social connections established throughout the program.

If a student intends to continue their studies at a licensed or accredited university, they will need to seek an institution that holds the necessary licenses or accreditations at that time and can ensure their eligibility for further studies.

METHODOLOGY

Our classes

We employ an asynchronous online methodology that allows students to access all Master's and Ph.D. program content from the start, without the need to connect at specific times. Students can study and complete their assessments at any time, with extended deadlines for submissions, making it easier to balance their studies with other responsibilities.

Despite geographical distance, we maintain a close relationship between faculty and students. Our virtual classroom provides access to information, discussion forums, and direct communication with professors via email. We are committed to responding to all student inquiries within a maximum of 48 hours.
